   If she is 12, make her wait till she is 16. It will give her a bit of time to mature. If you have a boy, you may as well give up, we never mature.

   I’m 14 and have just started dating

   I’m sure some people might say now and there is nothing wrong with that but I think 12 year olds might think someone is “hott” then become girlfriend and boyfriend and that kind of defies the point of getting to know someone and learning to love them

   I went on little trips to the cinema when I was 12 with my ‘boyfriend.’
   Started dating properly when I was 14.
   It depends if you trust her to take care of herself

   If she has a good head on her shoulders then maybe let her go out together with a boyfriend and a few of her other friends so you know she will be safe.

   Well this is something I have given a great deal of thought too. I am the single parent of a 14 year old girl. I know right now she has a boyfriend. He is a nice guy, and I have met his mother, and sister, he has a nice family. My daughter and him have gone to the movies, with a group of friends. For me that is ok. As far as a one on one date, I think she is ready, I trust her. We have had the talk, and she has a good head on her shoulders. To me 12 is a bit early. But that is my opinion, you know your daughter, not me.

   I started dating at 18 my parents are strict but I thank them for it. Actually I commend you most parents need to be strict so there aren’t so many teens running around getting into trouble and having kids.

   My mom would go out with my friends and myself around 7th and 8th grade once in high school she would let me go out with a GROUP of friends but would make sure she knew who was going, contact number of the people that would go with me and where I could be reached, give me a curfew and would meet the parent(s) of my friends so they would know how responsible they are. May sound like a lot but I thank them to this day for it because I stayed out of trouble and am now 26 years old with no children, dating a successful man a few years older than me, with my own home and working for a medical university :o)

   Trust me all the hard work pays off and yes I would tell them how unfair my parents were and how they just wanted to ruin my life and keep me from having fun but now I just thank them for it.
