What is an appropriate age to start dating?

    Before 13 it is not dating. After 13, it becomes a pain in the neck.

    7th grade is either a group date type or a parent chaparoned type situation…. and only with someone of the same age group…

    If you tell your daughter she can’t date until she’s 16-18 she’ll hate you! Just teach her right and wrong and don’t try to put restraints on her because she’ll probably rebel… Keep in mind how old you were when you began to date

    Well it depends on what types of “dates” she wants to go on and how mature she is. I would allow her to go on group dates with many guys and girls to a public place and then allow her to exclusively date in 10th grade

    The older the better. Try to keep her busy with other things like sports, clubs, etc… She doesn’t need a horny little jerk climbing all over her. I was the boy that was the parents worse nightmare. A lot of young girls learned too much from being with me. Now I have daughters and I’m being paid back.

    I was around 15 when I started to date. I think I did the gruop thing before that. We would all go out together. I was 15 when it was just a guy and me on a date. I am not sure that I will let my daughter date at that age. It depends on how mature your daughter is and if she can handle it at what age.
